Funding Priorities
Who We Are
The McMahon Parater Foundation funds projects that fulfill its mission of supporting and enhancing Catholic education throughout the Diocese of Richmond. To that end, the Foundation has identified focus areas in which to concentrate giving. The main initiatives of the Foundation are to:
1. Provide tuition assistance
2. Enhance academic resources and services
3. Provide professional development opportunities
In its first year, the Foundation awarded over $200,000 to 650 students. These need-based scholarships were awarded using income criteria established by FACTS, an independent tuition management company.
While the Foundation was able to provide considerable tuition assistance in its inaugural year, a substantial need still exists. In 2007-2008, financial need in all 29 schools totaled over $3.1 million and over $1.2 million of that need went unfulfilled.

"Builds character and instills values; provides caring,
nurturing community ideals for education of the 'whole' child."
